Thank you for your interest in my campaign.
I grew up in Aurora, Illinois. Through many routes, I came to Dixon, Illinois in 1998.
My job as an educator at the Dixon Correctional Center is why I came to Dixon. I remember as a young child my dad bringing me to Dixon. As time passed, I found out from relatives that Dixon is the place of my dad’s birth. Life does make circles.
I retired from Dixon Correctional Center in 2012. My political career began in the summer of 2017. Action for a Better Tomorrow-Sauk Valley is a group of citizens who organized to create positive alternatives to the consequences of the events of November 2016.
One of the goals of the group is to have no candidates run unopposed. I knew that my opponent had run the elections of 2014 and 2016 unopposed. I did try and encourage other people I knew to take on this task. As the petition signing season rolled around, I knew that someone had to oppose him and that someone was going to be me.
This is the time for action and change.
There is a choice for redirection. I am she.
